Dangerous “forever” chemicals known as PFAS have been found in the drinking water systems of close to 2 million people in New York.
These chemicals have been linked to serious health risks like cancer, liver damage, immune system dysfunction, and harm to developing fetuses, infants, and children.
Although the New York State Department of Health (DOH) recently recommended new drinking water standards for these PFAS chemicals, these recommendations do not go far enough to protect the health of New Yorkers, and water suppliers may not have to comply for another three years.
Submit your comment to Governor Andrew Cuomo and the DOH now: Tell them that there is no safe level of PFAS chemicals in our water, so stricter regulations must be put in place immediately.
