A staggering number of people in the U.S. are living without running water right now, many of whom have had their water service shut off, often for being behind on their unaffordable water bills. Water service is critical in ensuring that households can take steps to safeguard themselves through hand-washing and sanitizing, and also for drinking and cooking, during the current COVID-19 crisis.
So we must call on governors across the country to do everything they can to make sure water service is restored to all households that have been disconnected AND to establish moratoriums on future water shutoffs during the crisis, so nobody loses access to running water for any reason.
Tell your governor to stop utilities from cutting off water service to state residents and to ensure everyone has access to safe water in their homes for hand-washing, sanitizing, drinking, and cooking during the COVID-19 crisis.
Make sure all homes have access to running water during COVID-19!
