Tell EPA: Protect our Health and STOP Undermining Clean Air Protections during COVID-19

The Trump administration is waging an all-out assault on our clean air in the midst of the COVID-19 respiratory pandemic.

Against the advice of the EPA’s own scientists, agency leaders just decided NOT to strengthen critical safeguards protecting us from dangerous particulate and ozone air pollution.

Failing to strengthen these protections will cause up to 12,500 more premature deaths per year. And people in low-income communities and communities of color — who are already suffering the most from the COVID-19 crisis — will suffer a disproportionate share of the air pollution burden.

This reckless EPA policy comes amid a string of clean air protection rollbacks, and even after Harvard released a preliminary study identifying significantly higher COVID-19 death rates in U.S. regions with even slightly higher levels of air pollution.

Enough is enough. Submit an urgent letter calling on the EPA to strengthen air pollution standards and drop its disastrous assault on clean air protections.
