Dear state lawmakers,

As your constituent, I urge you to take action against dangerous non-agricultural use of "neonic" pesticides now by supporting A2070/S1016.

As massive numbers of bees and other pollinators keep dying across New Jersey, the U.S., and the globe, study after study connects these deaths to neonicotinoid pesticides ("neonics").

And it's not just bees we should be worried about — neonics are fast becoming known as the pesticides responsible for killing birds, fish, and other insects in record numbers and contaminating our water.

Neonics are also extremely pervasive. When they're sprayed, they cover plants, they get into the soil, and they make their way into our waterways. In fact, recent state sampling also found neonics in over 40 percent of New Jersey surface waters tested.

These dangerous chemicals are also designed to become embedded in the plant itself, so neonics can be found in every part of the plant (including pollen and nectar) and can't be washed off!

As your constituent, I'm writing to urge you to protect bees, our wildlife, and the safety of our communities by passing A2070/S1016.
