Help support bold and equitable public health and environmental protections for Colorado

Governor Jared Polis has set a goal of reducing climate-busting greenhouse gas emissions in Colorado by 50 percent by 2030 — and by 90 percent by 2050.

But that was almost two years ago and in order to meet these much-needed climate goals, we must put in place bold clean energy policies that will help keep our communities healthy, put Coloradans back to work, and invest in historically underserved communities.

The NRDC Action Fund is calling on legislators to support policies that cut carbon pollution in the building and transportation sectors, fight climate change, save working families money on their utility bills, and create new clean energy jobs for the communities that need them most.

Colorado state lawmakers are back in session. Urge Governor Polis and your state legislators to protect communities, fight climate change, and support a clean energy recovery for Colorado in 2021.

Dear Governor Polis and Colorado State Legislators:

As your constituent, I'm writing today to ask you to support bold and equitable public health and environmental policies in 2021.

Specifically, please prioritize policies that:

*  Put Colorado on the path towards a 100 percent clean energy future
*  Help power buildings with clean and affordable energy to improve indoor and outdoor air quality and save residents money
*  Cut carbon pollution from transportation and invest in clean, affordable electric vehicles, trucks, and buses and more charging stations across the state
*  Invest in energy efficiency to save Coloradans money and reduce wasted energy
*  Protect communities from dangerous oil and gas drilling
*  Boost economic recovery by investing in new green and clean energy jobs, especially for low-income communities, communities of color, and those impacted by the COVID-19 economic crisis
*  Help protect Colorado's beloved wild lands, wildlife, waters, and natural resources

Dirty air pollution from the fossil fuel industry is harming the health of our most vulnerable communities in a big way.

Something must change. It's time that Colorado harnesses its clean energy potential and invests in new clean energy technologies!

Please help relieve burdens on communities that have historically been the most impacted by pollution and continue to be impacted the hardest by pollution and the COVID-19 crisis.

Please also help make clean energy accessible to all and create clean energy investments in the communities that need them most.
