Shut Down Line 3 Tar Sands and Dakota Access Pipelines

The Line 3, Line 5, and Dakota Access pipelines will wreak havoc on our climate and our environment — and derail our path towards a 100% clean energy future if they’re allowed to continue operating. And they violate treaties, more than 150-years old, with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in the Dakotas and Tribal Nations of the Anishinaabe people in Michigan and Minnesota—who have been on the frontlines fighting these fossil fuel monstrosities for years.

These pipelines are operating in violation of bedrock environmental laws and protections, and in direct threat to the rights of Indigenous communities and the sanctity of Indigenous lands and waterways.

The Biden administration has already shut down the Keystone XL pipeline. Now, they must follow suit by shutting down DAPL, Line 5, and Line 3.

Please, submit an urgent letter to the Biden-Harris administration calling on them to shut down DAPL, Line 5, and Line 3 and prevent any more disastrous pipelines from seeing the light of day.

First, I'd like to thank you for your historic decision to shut down the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, and for putting forth the most sweeping climate agenda in U.S. history.

Your administration is off to a great start on the environment, but to reach our climate goals and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, you must go further. I urge you to keep up the momentum by shutting down the Dakota Access Pipeline and the Line 3 and Line 5 tar sands pipelines.

These projects are operating in violation of bedrock environmental laws and protections and in direct threat to the rights of Indigenous communities and the sanctity of Indigenous lands and waterways.

These disastrous pipelines will wreak havoc on our climate and our environment, and they will derail our path towards a 100% clean energy future. Furthermore, these pipelines violate treaties more than 150 years old with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and Anishinaabe Tribal Nations across multiple states.

Please shut down these projects immediately.
