Dear administration officials:

First, I'd like to thank you for your historic decision to shut down the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, and for putting forth the most sweeping climate agenda in U.S. history.

Your administration is off to a great start on the environment, but to reach our climate goals and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, you must go further. I urge you to keep up the momentum by shutting down the Dakota Access Pipeline and halting construction on the Line 3 tar sands pipeline.

Both projects are operating in violation of bedrock environmental laws, without legal permits or environmental review processes, and in direct threat to the sovereignty of Indigenous communities and the sanctity of Indigenous lands and waterways.

These disastrous pipelines will wreak havoc on our climate and our environment, and they will derail our path towards a 100% clean energy future. Furthermore, these pipelines violate decades-old land treaties with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and Anishinaabe people.

Please shut down both projects immediately.
