As we continue to deal with the COVID-19 crisis, Michigan state lawmakers must make sure we have the strongest public health protections possible to keep our water and air safe and our communities healthy in 2021.
Last year, Michigan lawmakers put in place some of the strongest drinking water standards against toxic PFAS chemicals in the country and passed a bill to protect Michigan residents from water shutoffs until March 31 of this year.
And Governor Whitmer issued an executive order that set a goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2050 across all sectors of the state's economy, including electric power, transportation, buildings, industry, and agriculture.
This year, we must keep the momentum going to ensure we meet this much-needed climate goal, and to ensure all communities across the state have access to safe, affordable drinking water for the duration of the pandemic and beyond.
Michigan lawmakers are back in session in Lansing ... will you send them a note urging them to put in place BOLD and EQUITABLE policies in 2021?
Urge Governor Whitmer and your state legislators to protect safe drinking water, push for ambitious solutions to climate change, jumpstart economic recovery, and support a clean energy future for Michigan in 2021.
