President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda is a once-in-a-generation investment in strong action on climate change, clean energy, and job creation. It will tackle the climate crisis, ensure safe drinking water, clean up the mess made by the fossil fuel industry, create millions of high-quality jobs, and accelerate a just transition to an equitable, 100% clean energy future.

Scientists agree that we must reduce emissions by 50% by the end of the decade if we are to have any hope of avoiding the worst impacts of climate change. It's clear that climate action can't wait.

Congress must do its part to make the Build Back Better agenda a reality by passing strong budget reconciliation legislation that will invset in our communities, create jobs, and fight climate change.

I support President Biden's Build Back Better agenda, a once-in-a-generation investment in strong action on climate change, clean energy, and job creation. Now, Congress must do its part to turn that plan into action by passing strong budget reconciliation legislation that includes the strongest possible measures to reduce emissions by at least 50% by the end of the decade, as scientists say we must to avoid the worst impacts of the climate crisis.

Specifically, I urge you to pass strong legislation to:

* Shift the nation to a clean energy economy by cleaning up the power sector, transitioning away from climate-busting fossil fuels, and expanding clean energy alternatives like wind and solar

* Upgrade our aging transportation infrastructure and slash carbon pollution by incentivizing electric vehicles, building a nationwide network of electric vehicle charging stations, and investing in clean and affordable low-carbon transit for all

* Ensure every community has access to safe, lead-free drinking water by removing the 6-10 million lead pipes across the country and addressing a health crisis that disproportionately impacts low-income communities and communities of color

* Reduce toxic pollution in communities being left behind by the oil and gas industry by cleaning up millions of abandoned oil and gas wells across the country

Please seize this moment and heed the urgency of climate action and invest in our communities by supporting the Build Back Better agenda.
