Right now, Congress is debating critical budget reconciliation legislation — and we need to ensure that the bill fully delivers the bold action we need on climate change, clean energy and electric vehicles, safe drinking water, and equitable job creation — key elements of President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda. The latest IPCC report underscores that leaders around the world must take swift, decisive action to combat the climate crisis.

Right now is your single best chance to act on climate. Please do your part to pass the strongest possible budget reconciliation bill that will:

* Expand our clean energy economy by cleaning up the power sector, transitioning away from climate-busting fossil fuels, and expanding clean energy alternatives like wind and solar

* Upgrade aging transportation infrastructure and slash carbon pollution by incentivizing electric vehicles, building more electric vehicle charging stations, and investing in clean and affordable low-carbon transit for all

* Ensure every community has access to safe, lead-free drinking water by removing the millions of lead pipes across the country and addressing a health crisis that disproportionately impacts low-income communities and communities of color

* Reduce toxic pollution in communities being left behind by the oil and gas industry by cleaning up millions of abandoned oil and gas wells across the country

It is urgent that Congress pass a bill that makes the big, bold, and ambitious investments needed to tackle the climate crisis, achieve true environmental justice, and accelerate the transition to clean energy. To meet this moment, to heed the science, and to make good on President Biden's promises, Congress must act now to deliver on climate, justice, and jobs.
