The measures San Jose city council are voting on include:
• A Carbon Neutral 2030 Acceleration Strategy to make sure the city is able to achieve its carbon neutral goal by laying out strategies for reducing emissions;
• An “Electrify San Jose” Framework for Equitable Building Electrification to electrify existing buildings in an equitable way, tackling the second-largest source of emissions;
• And reforming rules for new development to remove parking minimums and encourage sustainable transportation; this will create a more walkable and transit-friendly city, while also making housing more affordable.
