Demand that Congress Pass Urgent Hurricane Maria Aid and Relief Bill

Hurricane Maria has devastated Puerto Rico and parts of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Homes, hospitals, schools, and roads are damaged or destroyed. Many residents lack clean water, and food supplies are running low. Much of the island lacks electricity, and experts say the electrical grid has been destroyed.

Aid from the federal government has been slow to arrive. And Puerto Rico’s 3.4 million American citizens, and well as residents of the U.S. Virgin Islands, need the full support of the U.S. government.

Initial federal aid was fast to arrive in Texas and Florida after Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands deserve the same help.

Tell Congress and President Trump to get a special aid bill passed for victims of Hurricane Maria now.
