Michigan water utilities are attempting to repeal the state’s Lead and Copper Rule, the strongest drinking water protections against lead in the country.
This is unacceptable — these protections are critical to securing safe drinking water for communities across the state and ensuring that a disaster like the Flint water crisis never happens again.
And lead isn’t the only contaminant threatening Michigan’s drinking water. Dangerous chemicals known as PFAS have been found in the drinking water of over 1.4 million Michiganders.
Governor Whitmer has taken some steps to address these issues but she needs you to let her know that she’s on the right path.
We must ensure that the Governor does everything in her power to protect the drinking water of communities across the state immediately.
Urge Governor Whitmer to help safeguard families and children from lead and PFAS contamination and invest in Michigan’s decaying water infrastructure!
