North Carolina Forests Are Not Fuel

North Carolina’s forests are being chopped down to supply wood to companies like Enviva. These companies turn this wood into chips and pellets for burning in power plants around the world to produce electricity. Burning trees to produce electricity creates more climate-busting carbon pollution than coal, gas, and oil.

Right now, Governor Roy Cooper and his team are drafting up a Climate Action Plan for North Carolina and we need to make sure that burning forest wood to generate electricity is not included in their plan to fight climate change.

Send Gov. Cooper a message: Burning wood to produce electricity must not be included in North Carolina’s Climate Action Plan.
