Dear CA state leaders:

California is home to nearly 40 million residents — people who need affordable and clean water, air, transportation, housing, and food. But in order to ensure a healthy California, we need our policies to work for everyone.

Today, that's not the case. Black, brown, and Indigenous communities are disproportionately impacted by dangerous pollution and the effects of the climate crisis.

We can do better. We must do better.

Specifically, I'm calling on California leaders to:

* Advance climate action and improve indoor and outdoor air quality
* Cut carbon and air pollution from transportation by increasing the number of — and access to — clean electric vehicles, trucks, buses, and charging stations to support them
* Help create a safer, more resilient, and more equitable food and farming system, and protect communities and farmworkers from toxic pesticides
* Fight against dirty fossil fuel pollution and STOP oil drilling near where people live
* Invest in new, good-paying clean energy jobs, especially for low-income communities, communities of color, and people affected by the ongoing transition away from fossil fuels
* Protect oceans and marine life from dangerous single-use plastics, toxic waste, and pollution
* Safeguard California's natural resources, biodiversity, and beloved wild places, while ensuring all Californians have access to nature
* Increase access to safe and affordable drinking water in low-income communities

Please stay vigilant about putting in place the strongest possible public health protections to ensure all communities have access to safe water and air and a healthy environment.
