Sign the Petition to World Leaders: The Time for Action on Climate Change is Now

A startling new United Nations report revealed that greenhouse gas emissions are still rising dangerously… despite repeated warnings from scientists that we have just a few years left to drastically reduce emissions if we want to avoid climate catastrophe.

As temperatures rise and natural disasters worsen, one thing is clear: Climate change is happening, and the time for action is now.

Yet, as world leaders wrapped up the annual U.N. Climate Change Conference in Madrid, the countries responsible for nearly 80 percent of all global emissions did little to respond to the growing urgency of the climate crisis or commit to cutting back their emissions.

Enough is enough. Call for bold climate action from world leaders: Sign the global petition demanding they strengthen the Paris climate agreement, slash the use of climate-busting fossil fuels, promote economic justice, expand investments in clean energy technologies, and act immediately to solve the climate crisis.

Dear World Leaders:

As temperatures rise and natural disasters strengthen, there’s no doubt that the global climate change crisis is worsening -- and a new U.N. report revealed that greenhouse gas emissions are still dangerously increasing. With world leaders meeting at the United Nations Climate Change Conference this month, the time for more urgent action is now. We demand that world leaders act to:

  • Strengthen their Paris climate agreement targets by the end of 2020
  • Stop the extinction crisis that is leading to the dramatic loss of nature by protecting 30% of land and oceans by 2030
  • Speed up the just and equitable transition away from polluting fossil fuels and dramatically expand access to clean energy technologies
  • Protect people by making communities better able to withstand and defend against the environmental and health impacts of climate change
